About the experience

The journey begins in the Soča Valley and climbs towards Planina za Skalo, a remote alpine pasture beneath the limestone peaks of the Julian Alps. Ancient mountain paths then lead across the highlands of Komna towards the traditional dairy pastures above Bohinj.

The route continues across Hribarice Pass into the Triglav Seven Lakes Valley. Along the way, the landscape changes from green meadows and shepherd settlements to dramatic mountain passes and white limestone plateaus.

The final stage crosses a historic pass connected with the First World War before descending back towards the Soča Valley.

The route does not include technical climbing or difficult via ferrata sections. However, the long hiking days and high-alpine terrain require good fitness and previous mountain hiking experience.
